Outreach Programs

AA Meetings
Alcoholics Anonymous holds its meetings here on Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and also on Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. AA provides fellowship and the 12 step program to help alcoholics cope with problem drinking.

CROP Walk 
Christian Rural Overseas Project (or CROP Walk) as it is commonly referred to, has been an annual fall event since 1985. Sponsored participants walk from one to six miles to raise money for world hunger.

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous 
FA is a recovery base program utilizing the twelve step AA program.

Habitat for Humanity
Young and old alike volunteer through Habitat for Humanity to build homes for the underprivileged, giving them a sense of belonging.

Iris Becker Scholarship Fund
In memory after death, this fund was established to provide scholarship money for youth to attend the University of Michigan Dearborn campus. Iris was a dedicated school teacher and member of First Congregational Church of Dearborn. (The Iris Becker Elementary School resides on Miller Street in Dearborn.)

Olivet College
Olivet College is a United Church of Christ affiliate, located near Marshall, Michigan. Scholarship monies are provided for youth to attend college.

One Great  Hour of Sharing
Donations provide overseas emergency relief.

Open Door
Dearborn Congregational Church donates money to the Fort Street Presbyterian Church of Detroit's hot meal program. Fort Street Presbyterian provides hot meals to the homeless in the area.

Salvation Army
Dearborn Congregational Church provides financial support to the Salvation Army who provide the homeless shelter and meals. Salvation Army also provide substance abuse rehabilitation at their Harbor Lights facility.

Springwells Seniors
Every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. the Springswells Seniors hold their luncheon and fellowship meetings in our community room. This provides local senior citizens a place to meet with their friends every week. They have lunch, and great fellowship, and enjoy playing cards and bingo, etc.

Strengthen the Church
Donations are used for church development.

Neighbors in Need
Donation for needs of racial / ethnic constituencies.

UNICEF
On the Sunday before Halloween the children of the church dress up in their Halloween costumes and collect change for UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund). This organization provides emergency funds for children around the world.

Veterans of the Cross
Donations for emergency needs of pastors and retired pastors.
